ယမန္ေန႔ညက ေျမာက္ဦးၿမဳိ႕တြင္ျဖစ္ပြားခဲ့ေသာ အၾကမ္းဖက္မႈ သတင္းေၾကာင့္ အေမရိကန္သံရုံးက ဝမ္းနည္းမိေၾကာင္း ေျပာၾကားလုိၿပီး ယင္းျဖစ္ရပ္တြင္ အသက္ဆုံးရႈံးခဲ့ရသူမ်ား၏ မိသားစုမ်ားႏွင့္ထပ္တူ ဝမ္းနည္းစိတ္မေကာင္းျဖစ္ရပါေၾကာင္းအပါအဝင္ ထုိအၾကမ္းဖက္မႈေၾကာင့္ အျပစ္မဲ့ျပည္သူမ်ား ထိခုိက္ခံစားခဲ့ရသည္အတြက္ မ်ားစြာစုိးရိမ္မိေၾကာင္းကုိလည္း ေျပာၾကားလုိပါသည္။ တရားဥပေဒစုိးမုိးမႈကုိေလးစားသည္ႏွင့္အညီ ျပည္သူမ်ားၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းစြာစုေဝးခြင့္သည္ မည္သည့္ဒီမုိကေရစီစနစ္၌မဆုိ အေျခခံအုတ္ျမစ္တစ္ခု ျဖစ္ပါသည္။ ဤေၾကကြဲဖြယ္ရာျဖစ္ရပ္မ်ားအေၾကာင္းႏွင့္ ယင္းတုိ႔မည္ကဲ့သုိ႔ ျဖစ္ေပၚလာသည္ကုိ ပုိမုိေကာင္းမြန္စြာနားလည္ၿပီး ေနာင္တြင္ ဆင္ျခင္တုံတရားႏွင့္ ထိန္းထိန္းသိမ္းသိမ္းေဆာင္ရြက္ျခင္းအားျဖင့္ ေနာက္ထပ္အၾကမ္းဖက္မႈျဖစ္ရပ္မ်ားကုိ ကာကြယ္တားဆီးႏုိင္မည္ဟု မိမိတုိ႔ေမွ်ာ္လင့္ပါသည္။

The U.S. Embassy wishes to express its distress at reports of violence last night in Mrauk-U and its deep concern for all innocent people affected by the violence, including condolences to the families of those killed. The right of a people to peacefully assemble is a cornerstone of any democracy, as is respect for the rule of law. We hope that reason and restraint will prevail and that, with a better understanding of these tragic events and how they unfolded, future incidents of violence can be prevented.
